2019 Chrysler Pacifica vs 2019 Toyota Sienna near New Baltimore, MI

Do you see a new minivan in your future but not sure which one would be best for you? Well, let us offer two suggestions in the form of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna. Each of these minivans offers exceptional features and drive capabilities, but there are differences between the two vehicles. So if you'd like things narrowed down a bit more follow along as we compare and contrast what these two have to offer.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Power & Handling

Across the board, the Pacifica comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that comes paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This combination puts out 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Drivers will find that the Pacifica's brakes are not only easy to modulate while offering short pedal travel and responsiveness, but manage to be as such without being too overly sensitive to pressure. Steering for the Pacifica has a good on-center feel that's well-weighted and easy to control. Furthermore, the Pacifica brings limited body roll with it, allowing it to take corners well while dispatching bumps with little issue.

2019 Toyota Sienna Power & Handling

The Sienna is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that comes matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The Sienna is generally smooth to brake, though its pedal resistance will push back the harder you lay into it. At the same time, the Sienna will having you feeling some road feedback through the steering wheel, which also retains the same effort to turn at higher speeds, which results in lower stability. Drivers may also notice a bit of body roll if they don't slow down enough around turns, though the sport-tuned suspension on the SE trim helps a bit with that.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Features & Design

There are six available trim levels for the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica; the L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and the Limited. Beginning at the beginning with the L trim will see the Pacifica come equipped with 17-inch wheels, an auxiliary jack, USB port, heated mirrors, six-speaker audio system, keyless entry, keyless ignition, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, blind-spot monitoring, rearview camera, 7-inch touchscreen, 40/60-split folding rear seat, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and dual-zone climate control. Moving on to the LX trim will gain collapsible second-row Stow 'n Go seats, driver information display, alloy wheels, automatic engine stop-start system, tri-zone climate control, automatic headlights, and a driver seat with eight-way power and four-way lumbar. At the Touring Plus trim level the Pacifica will gain an additional USB port in the front, satellite radio, foglights, automatic climate control, LED taillights, power liftgate, sliding power-rear doors, chrome exterior trim, remote engine start, and keyless entry. Next is the Touring L, which includes retractable sunshades for the second- and third-rows, leather upholstery, eight-way power passenger seats with adjustable lumbar, and heated front seats. The Touring L Plus trim takes the features of previous trims and then adds an Alpine audio system, a navigation system, upgraded driver information display, 8.4-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, sound-reducing glass, third-row USB port, and heated second-row seating, and a heated steering wheel. Finally comes the top trim of the line, the Limited, with its power-folding third-row seating, second-row USB port, 18-inch wheels, in-vehicle vacuum cleaner, hands-free sliding doors, xenon headlamps, hands-free liftgate, premium leather upholstery, LED foglights, ventilated front seats, a pair of sunroofs, and mirrors that are not auto-dimming but power-folding.

2019 Toyota Sienna Features & Design

There are only five trim levels available for the 2019 Toyota Sienna; the L, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited. The basic L trim comes with a media player with an auxiliary audio jack, six-speaker sound system with an included CD player, 17-inch alloy wheels, five USB ports, smartphone integration, automatic headlights, an Entune interface-enabled 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wiper de-icer, conversation mirror, rearview camera, tri-zone automatic climate control, and keyless entry. The LE trim will add rear sunshades, upgraded fabric upholstery that's easy to clean, roof rails, power-adjustable driver seat, heated mirrors, power-sliding rear doors, and privacy glass. The SE trim is similar to the LE, but gains a larger driver information screen, heated front seating, a sport-tuned suspension, leather upholstery for the front two rows, a power liftgate, sharper steering, sportier exterior styling, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Stepping up to the Seinna's XLE trim will come with keyless entry, keyless ignition, power-adjustable front passenger seat, power-opening rear windows, and imitation-wood trim. Lastly is the Limited trim and its heated steering wheel, driver-seat memory setting, 18-inch alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery for the first- and second-row seats, rear parking sensors, a specialized grille, rear and front sunroofs, mirrors with power-folding and auto-dimming features, and LED daytime running lights.

Conclusions

While both the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna are excellent options to have to choose between, we're going to have to give our recommendation to the Pacifica. With a smoother ride and more features for each of each trim levels, which it has more of than the Sienna to begin with, the Pacifica offers a better overall experience for those in either the driver or passenger seats.
